Pricing

One price, and you only pay it when a child registers

No subscription, no setup fee, no per-seat charges, and nothing at all in the months when nobody is registering.

$1.50
per player, per registration

Charged once, when a registration is paid for: not when a cart is started, and not when you create a season. Two children in one season is $3.00.

What would a year cost your community organization?

Move the numbers to match your community organization. Nothing here is sent anywhere.

$
The rest pay cash or check, recorded by your treasurer.
Who covers card processing?
LeagueRoots fees $600.00
Stripe card processing (paid to Stripe) $0.00
Cost to your community organization $0.00
Per registration $0.00

Assumes one card payment per registration at Stripe's standard US rate of 2.9% + 30¢. Families checking out several children together pay one 30¢ charge, so the real figure is usually a little lower. Nonprofits can often negotiate a lower Stripe rate.

Card processing is Stripe's, not ours

Card payments run through your community organization's own Stripe account, opened in your organization's name. Stripe charges its own rate, and the payout lands in your bank account rather than passing through ours. Our $1.50 is taken from the same payment, so there is no separate bill for card registrations.

You decide who absorbs the fees. Charge families the advertised price and take the fees out of the payout, or add them at checkout as a clearly labelled processing fee so your community organization keeps the full registration fee.

Cash and checks cost the same $1.50

Plenty of families pay a coach at the first practice, and plenty of community organizations prefer it that way. Recording an offline payment activates the registration exactly as a card does, at the same $1.50 and with no processing fee, because no card was involved.

Those fees are totalled into one invoice a month rather than a hundred small charges, and you can see what has built up at any point in the season.

Pricing questions

Is there a minimum, or a fee in the off-season?

No. A month with no registrations costs nothing.

Do we pay for store sales?

Not to us. Jerseys, hoodies and other store items carry no LeagueRoots fee. Card payments for them still have Stripe's processing charge, like any card payment.

What happens when we refund a registration?

You issue refunds from your admin screens, and the family gets back what they paid, from your Stripe balance. Our $1.50 is not refunded: it covers the registration we processed. Stripe does not return its processing charge on a refund either. For a cash or check registration, the $1.50 stays on your monthly invoice.

We are a tiny community organization. Is it worth it?

Tell us roughly how many players you register in a year and what you use now, and we will tell you honestly whether it adds up. If the answer is "it would cost you more", we would rather say so.

Ready for a calmer registration season?

Tell us about your community organization and we will set you up, walk your board through it and help you open registration. There is nothing to pay until families register.
