About LeagueRoots
Grown from a real community organization
LeagueRoots started where most community organization software problems start: with a volunteer registrar, a shared spreadsheet and a shoebox of checks.
The story
For more than ten years, the registration system behind LeagueRoots ran a community recreation community organization in southwest Ohio: thousands of families, every sport the community organization offered, fall and spring, run entirely by parents. It took the payments, collected the waivers and produced the rosters.
It also showed us what volunteer-run community organizations actually need, and what they do not. They do not need a dashboard of charts. They need registration to open on time, the late fee to apply itself, families who cannot pay by card to be treated the same as those who can, and a treasurer who can see who still owes without a pivot table.
LeagueRoots is that system rebuilt from the ground up so any community organization can use it: one platform, with each community organization's families, money and website kept entirely its own.
Why "roots"
Every player in our logo, whatever their sport, grows from the same roots: the parents who coach, the neighbours who referee and the board members who keep the whole thing running. Community sport is local, and the software behind it should help it stay that way.
What we believe
How we build LeagueRoots
Volunteers first
Every screen is designed for someone doing this at 10pm after the kids are in bed. If a task needs training, we have not finished building it.
Families own their information
A household belongs to the family, not to us and not to any one community organization. It follows a child from soccer to basketball, and we never sell it or advertise to it.
Pricing you can explain to your board
One fee per registration, the same whether a family pays by card or by check, and nothing when nobody registers. No tiers to outgrow.
Your money stays yours
Card payments go into your community organization's own Stripe account and out to your bank. We never hold your funds, so leaving us would never mean waiting for them.
Ready for a calmer registration season?
Tell us about your community organization and we will set you up, walk your board through it and help you open registration. There is nothing to pay until families register.
