Accessibility

Last updated October 23, 2026

Every family should be able to register their child, sign a waiver and pay without help, whatever device they use and however they use it.

The standard we build to

LeagueRoots aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard the Americans with Disabilities Act is measured against for websites. That covers this site, every community organization's site we host, registration and checkout, the family account, and the administration screens community organizations use.

What that means in practice

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip straight to the content.
  • Pages are built with headings, landmarks and labelled form fields, so screen readers can find their way around them.
  • Form errors are announced and tied to the field they are about.
  • An organization's colours are checked when they are chosen: text that does not contrast enough with its background cannot be saved.
  • Pictures carry the description written for them in the organization's file library.
  • Rotating pictures can be paused, and stay still for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
  • Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on a phone-sized screen.

What is not in our hands

Each community organization writes its own pages and uploads its own pictures and documents. We give them the tools to do that accessibly - headings, alt text, and the checks above - but a scanned PDF of a flyer, or a picture with no description, is the organization's to fix. Card payments are taken in a form provided by Stripe, which publishes its own accessibility commitments.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on a LeagueRoots site gets in your way, please email hello@leagueroots.com with the page's address and what happened. We will reply, fix what is ours to fix, and pass on what belongs to a community organization. If you need to register or pay in the meantime, we will help you do it another way.
